Happy New Year!

Tonight is Evan's first New Year's Eve. Jill decided to dress him up for our annual trek to watch the fireworks at the space needle. Evan loved all the noise and colors. The entire walk there and back people kept commenting on how cute he was.

Meeting some more family

While in Philadelphia, Evan had the opportunity to meet more of his extended family. He seemed to enjoy meeting everyone, and everyone enjoyed finally meeting the little Demsey. Click below for more photos.

Christmas Baby

Today was Evan's first Christmas. We think he enjoyed himself - he was transfixed by all the little shimmering lights, and like most babies, seemed to like the wrapping paper better than the gifts. Click below for more pictures.

It's Play Time!

Evan has been learning to play over the past few weeks. He's now enjoying his play mat and his swing -- two things he has historically not been too fond of. His mini aquarium is also getting a lot of smiles lately. Take a look at the video below to see Evan at play.

Little Snowman

It almost never snows in Seattle but it's still November and we've already had a few snowy days. Having grown up in snowy areas, Jill and I wanted to introduce Evan to the snow sooner rather than later. We think he liked it.

Thanksgiving

The whole Demsey clan made it out to Seattle for Thanksgiving this year. It was fantastic to see everyone and have them all spend some quality time with Evan. Here are a few pictures of the visit.

His Mobile

For the past few weeks, Evan has really been enjoying looking at his mobile. He loves listening to the music and following the different animals around with his eyes and head. He even smiles and giggles every once in a while playing. The fact that he can be left in his crib for 10 minutes is also a big plus for mommy and daddy.

KD in for the weekend

Aunt Kara popped up from San Francisco to see Evan this weekend for the first time. It was raining almost the entire weekend but we went to the aquarium to see some fish and the Pike Place Market to get some apples for a tart Jill and I attempted to make (to no avail). Thanks for coming up Kara! See you at Thanksgiving!

Sometimes you need to be clean

Yep. Even gets cleaned off every Sunday and Thursday (unless there is some sort of emergency that necessitates cleaning more frequently). He smells so fantastic after his bath!

Boo!

Usually you're supposed to be spooky and scary on Halloween. Evan decided to dress as a lobster for Halloween but he was acting more like a crab - which is indeed scary. He looked super cute and got a few unsolicited "best costume" comments while we walked up and down Queen Anne Ave.

Corn Maze

Almost every year Jill and I go to a corn maze close to Halloween. This year we figured bringing Evan along would be a great idea. He slept most of the time as we navigated with Jennifer throughout the maze, saw the petting zoo and picked out pumpkins. All in all it was a worthwhile trip. He did however wake up a few times and cry like crazy. We captured one of his grumpy moments in the below -- and super appropriate -- picture.

Christening

Today was Evan's Christening at St. Lukes in Bellevue. It was a fantastic day. We are thankful that we had friends and family with us to support Evan.

It's fall

We're still planning on going to a Corn Maze (or Maize I guess) but we were at the pumpkin patch this past weekend and thought you'd enjoy this:

Evan's one month old now so we figured it's time for some more pictures. I wish I could report that he's sleeping better or is crying less but it's not the case yet. Maybe next month!

Couldn't resist this one

We saw him laying down the other day and wanted to share it. The spikey hair is just too cute.

Went to the doctors

Evan took a trip to the doctor's today. He wound up weighing 9 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 1/4" long. The doctor said he looks healthy and his current fussiness will begin to subside but not for at least a few more weeks.

The results from today's mall photo shoot

Jill and I took Evan to the mall today to get some photos taken. Evan was not cooperating one bit - he cried most of the time. Here are the two pictures that we were able to salvage. Let's hope it goes better the next time.

Evan in the hospital

Please Welcome Evan John Demsey!

We're still at the hospital but wanted to post a few pictures online for everyone. Jill is doing well after a long labor and we hope to be home tomorrow! He was born at 1:50 am on September 13th. He is 20" long and 7 pounds 9 ounces.
