Breaking News: Chicken Dance Injury

Today when I got home from work I was greeted with this:

After giving Evan a big kiss our sitter Megan told me that Evan hit his head on the table during an over zealous rendition of the chicken dance they were doing.  I'm not sure if this is the first chicken dance related injury but it's the first I've ever heard of.  Evan is feeling fine and is already dancing again.

Peep flies

Peep has been working hard on getting his pilot's license.  Evan has been putting him in his little plane.   According to Evan Peep is going on vacation to see Grandma and Grandpa.  Heads up Grandma and Grandpa you may want to get a bed ready for Peep.

Happy Birthday to Mommy

It was Jill's birthday and to celebrate we had a few friends over for a nice dinner.  Here's the Birthday Girl and Evan.

And here they are looking at the cake while Evan sang Happy Birthday.

Time to blow out the candles (you try telling Evan that he can't help -- good luck!).  As you can see, Evan added his own special touch to Jill's birthday cake.

Lucky for us we noticed where his "Evan frosting" landed and reserved that bit of cake for him.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to you!  Evan had a fun valentines day.  Jill got some balloons to set the mood.

Then Evan opened up all his cards and presents.  Evan is a very lucky little boy - he's very loved as is evident from all the cards and gifts he got.  Here he is opening up and eating some candy hearts.

And here he is after we said he couldn't have any more and put them away. Alas, even with his trusty blue stool he couldn't reach the candy hearts.

An Evening with Anna

A few nights ago we had Evan's friend Anna over for dinner and playtime.  I saw something that evening I hadn't ever seen before -- Evan and Anna talked to each other and played with each other (not around each other).  According to Jill this happens a lot with these two, but for me seeing this was pretty amazing.  Here the two of them are sharing an apple on the kitchen floor.

Choo choo

One of Evan's favorite toys right now is his wooden Thomas the Train set.  He loves working with us to reconfigure the track.  Every time he walks by the track he pushes his trains around and around (through the train wash, down the mine shaft, over the bridge, and to the water tank for a fill-up).  He even has Thomas stop to talk to the different wooden people as he makes his way around the track.  Here he is pushing around James.

Are you ok?

Today at one of Evan's classes another child fell down and was on the floor crying.  Evan noticed and went over to him and asked "Are you OK"?  Looks like our efforts may pay off after all.
