Aunt Jennifer in Seattle

Jennifer came to Seattle to spend Memorial Day weekend with Evan, Jill and me. We spent time at Golden Gardens, the Folklife festival and the Children's museum. Here are Jennifer and Evan at our house:

It was great having "Aunt Fur" in town to visit -- we all enjoyed the company and Evan had a blast playing with a new but familiar face.

Daddy's shirt

Evan is a messy guy so I usually take off my work shirt when I come home from work. Starting about a week ago Evan started to grab my shirt, put it on, poke his little hands through the long sleeves and walk around. After he gets bored he takes it off, hands it to me and asks me to put it on. It's just so funny to me seeing him in that big shirt I had to share it.

In the carwash

Evan has been in the car wash a few times now and LOVES it. He watches all the water and soap and brushes touch the car and he gets real excited. Here he is in amazement watching the soap being "zoogerred" by the blue rotating cloth.

A new place to read

Evan's not quite ready to be potty trained yet but we have a little potty for him and he likes to practice sitting on it a few times every day. The other day he grabbed one of my magazines and took it with him and now he takes one every time he sits on his toilet. Genetic? Possibly. Funny? Absolutely.

Mother's Day

This year for mothers day we all dressed up, went to church and then went out for brunch. Here's a picture of Mom and Evan that morning.

We had a great brunch at the Edgewater hotel. Evan must have been super hungry. Here's a list of what he ate:
  • Omelet (2 eggs with ham and cheese)
  • Fruit (pineapple, grapes, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries)
  • Breakfast potatoes
  • One pancake
  • Half of a cream puff
Here he is digging in.

After brunch we went home and played for the rest of the afternoon. What a great way to celebrate Mom.

The Peep rides the rails

Evan has gotten into his toy train lately. He chases it around the table yelling "Choo Choo!". He has also been giving his other toys a chance to take a trip on the rails. Here's Evan giving The Peep his first train ride.

The Peep

Many of you already know him but I thought it was time for an official introduction. This is Evan's Peep. He's Evan's favorite animal and probably his favorite thing in the world other than Mommy.

Evan likes to take The Peep everywhere and has now taken to putting him in his little backpack and carrying him around the house.

You've likely seen The Peep in previous posts lurking around so now you officially know who he is and why keeps popping up.

A Sad Goodbye

We went to our close friends, Becky and Roni's house this weekend to say goodbye. Becky and Roni are moving to Columbus, Ohio. We tried to get a goodbye picture with Evan but he wasn't feeling very photogenic. I think he was too interested in their dog, Oscar. So below is a picture of the first time Becky and Roni met Evan.

Becky would meet Jill and Evan for lunch. Here is a picture of their last lunch together.

Congratulations to Becky and Roni for starting this new chapter in your lives. We'll miss you in Seattle but are looking forward to visiting you in Ohio.
