The sick baby is now a bit sicker. Evan has been throwing up for the past few days now and today he threw up four times (once in his crib and once in his car seat in Mommy's car!). It's even hard for him to keep his Pedialyte down. We went to the doctor's office again and he stressed that we need to keep the little guy hydrated, so we're feeding him a few ounces of fluid every 20 minutes or so to keep him going. For someone used to eating as much as Evan, having limited solid food sure must be frustrating. Jill has done a fantastic job taking care of Evan while at the same time cleaning up the regurgitated product of his little baby stomach. Here's to hoping he gets well soon. Here's a picture of Evan this morning before the fun began.

Sick Baby
We have been lucky so far. Aside from a cold here or there Evan has always been really healthy. Unfortunately he now has some sort of stomach flu. He threw up yesterday but had not temperature so we thought it was something he ate. Then today he threw up again. Jill made the rookie mistake of trying to carry him to the bathroom which resulted in a trail of vomit through the house. Our fabulous friend/neighbor Anne left her daughter Lucy with her husband (who happened to be working from home) and actually came over with pedialite. She also cleaned up Evan's mess while Jill dealt with him. We are indebted to her. We called the doctor and Evan is on a strict pedialite diet. We are taking him in late this afternoon to see if he is okay.
Here is a picture of him in his pajamas with his pedialite. The clothes and shoes he was wearing are now in the wash.

Thanksgiving in Park City
This year for Thanksgiving we all went to Park City to be with my parents, brother and sister. We were trying to get a great picture of Evan with his little stuffed turkey on the porch with the beautiful mountains in the background but his mood was not too cooperative. So, here's a shot we took of him before we left Seattle with another of his turkey friends.
Here we are just before eating dinner.
We all know Evan likes food. He ate turkey, stuffing, sweet potatos, and green beans for dinner and loved every bite. Here's a shot of the entire Demsey clan at the table.
There's a cool metal toy airplane in Evan's bedroom in Utah - he seemed to love playing around in it.
We had a great time seeing everyone and creating some great Thanksgiving memories.

A Walking Machine
Now that Evan is walking it's all he wants to do. On our way to Park City for Thanksgiving all he wanted to do was walk up and down the concourse. He was also intrigued by the moving walkway and gave that a try too - but I think it confused him to be moving even when he stopped walking.

Sami stopped by
My good friend Sami was in town interviewing at Children's hospital this past weekend. We got a chance to spend a bit of time together this past Saturday before he returned home to Cleveland. Sami had only seen Evan once before early this past summer. Evan dazzled his visitor with spectacular feats of walking and (all be it garbled) talking. The two of them seemed to get along quite well. It'd be great to have you out here in Seattle Sami full time - perhaps you'd be up for some babysitting - but we'll take the occasional visit.
Playing with Vincent
I'm backed up on a few posts here but better late than never. A few weeks ago Evan's friend Vincent stopped over to play for a bit while I went to the auto show. The two of them had a great time playing with and around each other. Here they are taking a break from pounding Evan's very loud drum.

Evan is starting to walk more
Evan has been taking a few steps here and there for a month now but over the last 3 days he's gotten really into walking and I'd now say he's 60% walking and 40% crawling. He's still a bit unstable but he seems to enjoy the view while standing more than crawling. Here's a bit of video and no -- he's not doing the robot -- he just hasn't learned to bend his knees yet.
