A trip to Cleveland

My sister's engagement party in Cleveland was the perfect reason for Evan and I to head back to Cleveland for the first time in a long time. We had a blast seeing family and friends. Here are a few of my favorite photos.

We went over to Aunt Randy and Uncle Paul's house to see their farm. Evan loved his tractor ride.

Here's Evan and B on a hay bail by the horses.

And here's Evan feeding one of the horses a carrot.

My father re-did all the swings on our old swing set and Evan had a blast playing on it all weekend. Here's Evan and Uncle Dave climbing up the ladder.

And here's Aunt Kara and Evan swinging on the tire swing.

Evan has been waiting to do the chicken dance with Nana for at least a year. Here he is doing his thing.

Here's Min and Evan sharing some down time in the bed with Cody.

And last but certainly not least, here's the entire Baker and Demsey clan outside before the engagement party.

We sure did have a blast over our long weekend and can't wait to see everyone again at the wedding.

A new toy for summer: Evan's water table

Summer is upon us and Evan is happily playing with his new water table. I guess it's not that new. It was a gift he got some time ago but the weather hadn't been right until this past weekend. He loves playing with the boats, scooping and splashing the water and pushing things over the bridges.

This past weekend was so nice and hot that I also set up the sprinkler for Evan to run through. He spent the afternoon running through and around it.

And as the sun was going down and everything was cleaned up he has what Jill and I believe was his first Popsicle.

Looks like the beginning of a fun summer.

Trip to San Diego

Last week we all took a trip south to San Diego for a little vacation.  Evan was very excited to take a ride on the big airplane.  Our hotel was very kid friendly - it had a number of pools, ducks, fish and was right on the water.  Evan did his favorite water activity and spent a great deal of time throwing shells and rocks into the water.

The real fun started the next day when we went to Sea World.  We were greeted by a bunch of flamingos walking through the park.  We saw the dolphins, Shamu, the seals -- in fact we saw almost everything.  As an added bonus Elmo and Zoe were there.  Evan could hardly contain himself!  Evan came home with his own stuffed Shamu who now is in bed with him every night with Peep and his lady bugs.

The next day we headed over to Legoland where we rode a bunch of rides, played with Legos and saw fantastic lego sculptures.  Evan was just tall enough to ride many of the rides.  He had a blast, especially in the little water park they had there.

Our last day we went to the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park and saw elephants, rhinos, giraffe and lions.  Evan was so tired this afternoon that he fell asleep on one of our cart tours.

We had a fantastic vacation and can't wait to take another.  There were a lot more pictures than I could fit here, so if you want to see them, check out the full album.
