Last weekend we packed into the car and took our first family vacation to beautiful Leavenworth, Wa. We stayed in what appeared to be a brand new condo and had a fantastic time even though it decided to rain on us for the bulk of the weekend. Leavenworth is a small town that is dressed up as a Bavarian village. It has a bunch of cute Bavarian themed stores and restaurants that attracts tourists like us from across the state. We arrived on the last day of their Oktoberfest celebration and watched the incoming mayor tap the ceremonial keg. There was a small parade before the tapping of the keg and there was a huge keg wagon.
Fall is beautiful in Leavenworth.
Evan got to play with some leaves and hay.
There were goats just hanging around on a hillside over a miniature golf course - Evan loved them.
We also visited a pumpkin farm/petting zoo where an Alpaca spit on Evan and Jill after they nicely fed him a carrot. They smelled like Alpaca spit (which smells horrible) so we had to head back to the hotel and get changed.
There were a bunch of other great activities/events in Leavenworth. If you'd like to see the rest of the pictures, you can find them all here.
