Alexis is eating "big girl food"

Ever since Alexis turned 6 months old we've been slowly giving her baby food. Except for the rice cereal we feed her, Jill has made all of the food this time around. We've fed her sweet potatoes, pears and bananas. On the menu for this week is butternut squash and apples. It took her a while to get a hang of the whole eating thing. At first she wasn't too interested. She pushed most of the food back out with her tongue and then wouldn't open her mouth. The first time we fed her pears she got really into it and ate the entire bowl. From that point on we started having more luck with all the food. Evan's very interested in helping to feed Alexis. This first picture is one of her first food bites ever. The second is Evan being a helpful big brother.
