Hats

One of the best things about kindergarten is the hats.  For every occasion there seems to be a hat.  Sometimes there are several hats.  What do you do when there are 28 kids in your class?  Make hats (Of course I am not at all bitter about the large class size- ha)
Here are the hats Evan has come home with since Thanksgiving.

Turkey hat- he writes what he is thankful for on each feather.  I actually thought this one was really cute.  Probably because he wrote God, parents, sister, and grandparents on the feathers (excuse me while I pat myself on the back).

Pilgrim hat


Native American hat, although on the east coast they are still getting away with using the term Indians along with making the Native American hat with the stereotypical feather on it.


Groundhog hat for Groundhogs Day.  The best is when all 3 kindergarteners come off the bus wearing their hats.  Usually one has taken it off on the way home but I was lucky on Groundhog's Day to not only have all 3 boys get off still wearing their hats but to have my phone.


Abraham Lincoln's stove pipe hat.  Here is a fun fact according to Evan Abraham Lincoln use to write reminders to himself and keep them in his hat.  The kids had to write what they would keep in their hats.  Evan wrote he would keep his marbles in his hat.


100th day hat


Evan brought in 100 candy hearts for the 100th day since it fell close to Valentine's Day.


Cat in the Hat hat for Read Across America.  This hat was actually purchased.  Every kid in the school had to dress up like someone from a Dr Suess book and then there was a parade.  Most kids, including Evan just wore the Dr. Suess hat.
