We decided to take a trip with the kids to Williamsburg and see the sites. We visited Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement and the Great Wolf Lodge.
Jill and I had been to Colonial Williamsburg before and enjoyed it a lot. I think the kids did as well. They got to see where America started and while a lot of the history was over their heads it's never too early to start exposing them.
The thing that blew me away this trip was our visit to Jamestown. We had planned on going but really didn't know what to expect. The museum, tour and settlement were all excellent. It was a very engaging and hands on experience and connected well with the kids and at the same time had lots of depth in the museum and did a very good job telling the complete story.
At the end of the trip we had to tack on the Great Wolf Lodge. It was, as expected, a bit gross, crowded, and filled with watersides. It's the type of thing you do once in a very long while.
