Happy New Year!

On New Year's Eve we headed out with the kids to see a famed local kid band called Rocknocerous.  The coffee house was all decorated for the New Year's celebration and the band was decked out in tuxedos.  The kids shared a smoothie and hit the dance floor.  Well Evan hit the dance floor.  Alexis was a little more reluctant but was up there with him towards the end of the show.  Jill and I were pleasantly surprised to learn that beer and wine could be purchased and sat back to watch.  The grand finale was a countdown to "midnight" (3 pm), a ball drop, an apple juice toast to welcome in the New Year, and of course a singing of Old Lang Syne.

While Jill and I missed ringing in the New Year with our Seattle friends and seeing space needle fireworks I think the kids preferred this New Year's Eve celebration.

After some quiet time the celebration continued at home.
