At this point it could have gone either way - he was just as likely to hate it as he was to love it. We met up with his ski instructor Paul and off he went. Paul walked him up a little hill, put his skis on and off he went. They spent the rest of the first day going up and down the small hill with the "magic carpet" lift (imagine the people mover in the airport). He had a blast. He couldn't wait for day 2. He and Paul did the magic carpet one more time then off to the lift they went...
I was able to get a bit of video of him skiing down the hill.
And here he is after a successful day on the slopes.
But the best for Evan was yet to come. Each day after he skied, we went into the lodge after and got him a "second breakfast" of cereal, fruit and hot chocolate. He downed the entire thing each day.
Evan did injure himself on the trip - but it wasn't skiing. He tripped and hit his head on the corner of a coffee table and we had to take him to the emergency room. What a way to injure yourself on a ski trip! Big thanks to Mini and B for having us and helping make this experience so fun for Evan. When Evan got home and told Jill all about it he said "I'm a good skier now. You can take a lesson with Paul and maybe you can ski with me once you learn how."
We can't wait for our next trip and more skiing fun!
