The Fire Station

The Vienna Volunteer Fire Station had an open house today.  Given that Evan loves firetrucks and we thought we could learn a bit about fire safety, we decided to stop by.  Right when we arrived we saw something we'd never seen before at an event like this.  There was a fireman outside letting kids use the full fire hose.

Evan loved it.  The kids both took turns driving the fire truck.

Alexis was sporting her new hat (which she loves).

Later, there was a live fire demonstration in the parking lot, and the firemen did a great job explaining what to do in case of a fire.  They demonstrated crawling, how to check and see if a door is hot, and how to stop, drop and roll.  We had fun and Evan took away some important knowledge.
