Happy Second Birthday Alexis

After we got home from the farm the birthday girl took a little nap to prepare for the rest of the day.  Once she was up and ready to go, she put on the crown and cape and Jill told her birthday story.

Then it was time for some presents.  She opened Evan's first.

It was a singing Elmo.  She knew who it was and smiled but I think she was actually scared of it (she's since warmed up to him).  Alexis got her "big" present earlier in the morning - a kitchen.  She got a few more parts for it now (pots and pans and a picnic basket).  She also got a backpack.  She loves walking around the house with backpacks.  Now she's got a cute mousie backpack to tote around her toys in.

Then it was time for dinner.  Alexis loved the party decorations.

The cake was a huge hit too.  She was able to blow out both candles by herself.  From what I hear it tasted WAY better than the red elmo cake we had when the entire family was in town.

I can hardly believe two whole years have passed since Alexis entered our lives.  We're so blessed to have her as part of our family.  We're all so excited to be with her as she journeys through her (hopefully not so) terrible twos.
