Back in Seattle we went to pretty much every fair and festival that happened in town. Today was the first time we did it in Virginia. We went to two events today. First we went to the Fairfax Fall Festival. It was cold and raining out but that didn't stop me, Evan and Alexis from trying to have fun. There was an indoor model train exhibit and Evan liked looking at that
The rain let up a bit and we headed outside to the rides. The kids went on a few of them and had fun.
But it all started to go down hill when we went to the bounce house. As it turns out there was a massive puddle in there and Alexis fell in it. She was wet and cold and shivering. We ran back to the car, took her little wet pants off and she rode home wrapped in Evan's fleece jacket.
Later that afternoon we were hoping that it would clear up because Vienna was having Oktober fest in the center of the town. It didn't clear up but we went anyway, in the rain, and had fun. We walked around, listened to music, drank beer and had a pretzel.
Evan loved playing on the town caboose. We're from Seattle. No rain is going to keep us from getting out there and having a great time. We thought there'd be less rain here in Virginia but so far we've been wrong. We're crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.
